Stadtwerkstatt is a cultural association in Linz/Austria, founded in 1979 by art-school dissidents. It is a communication platform for the local art scene and an experimental space for art and cultural development. Being a vibrant place for an independent national and international avantgarde underground art scene in the early years, over the years Stadtwerkstatt became an independent art-media center. The focus is on critical reflection of the conditions of society and fostering free cultural initiatives, mainly independent media-projects.
Stadtwerkstatt runs a cultural center downtown Linz. Hosting public access media structures that were built up throughout the last years in cooperation with other media activists like
Radio FRO (non commercial local radio station, 24 hrs a day - also broadcasting in the net) - and servus.at (internet service for art and culture in the region), a Cafe with a small club-stage, Cafe Strom and a hall for concerts and events (dates).
All of these stages (real, virtual and ether) are networked.
Stadtwerkstatt realizes art-projects that are prototype samples of the interdisciplinary work with main focus on public spaces, audience participation and technology.

Since 1998 part of the viennese alternative scene. Since then uncountable national and international bands stopped at the B72 to play, for example Zoot woman, Calexico, Tocotronic, Moneybrother, Chikinki, Kettcar, Firewater.. to name but a few. The B72 covers a wide range of underground music and offers especially young austrian bands a possibility to play a well established club to fair conditions. The B72 is situated close to other well known viennese alternative bases, like the chelsea or the rhiz. It offers space for about 250 people and has a gallery to watch the stage and the crowd comfortably. Also there is a garden where you can sit outside and enjoy your drinks and the people around you.
Venue situated in a little forest for up to 700 people situated in a remote valley in the south of Austria. The Weißensee, Carinthia's most beautiful lake is only 7 km away!
The POSTHOF - located in the Linz dock area - has been existing since 1984. It is the largest and most vibrant house of contemporary arts in Austria and one of the largest in Europe. The concept of a "multidisciplinary arts center" for MUSIC, DANCE, THEATER, CABARET and LITERATURE has proven its merit. The program offering covers the complete, broad spectrum of contemporary arts and comprises concerts of the most varied musical directions (rock, pop, jazz, reggae, techno, hiphop...) as well as cabaret, contemporary theater, dance and literature. In order to present the individual disciplines up close, SERIES OF EVENTS WITH A SPECIAL FOCUS are organized regularly, such as "Heimspiel" (February), "TanzTage" (March), "Musik Mosaik" (October) and "Linzer Kleinkunstfestival" (November). In total, aprox. 250 EVENTS take place per season (from September until June), which are attended by 80,000 PERSONS.
The OCCII (Onafhankelijk Cultureel Centrum In It) is a venue for alternative and independent music in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. The organization is mostly run by volunteers and has its roots in the squatting movement; the building was squatted in 1984 and “legalized” in 1989. Next to the concert hall, there’s also a , a restaurant (called MKZ), the Anarchist library, theatre for children (Kinderpret), a bike workshop (Farafina), a sauna (Fenomeen), rehearsal studios, and a big courtyard with a garden.
The building the OCCII resides in was built as a horse tram garage with stables in 1883-84 by architect Abraham Salm (1857-1915), who also designed (together with his father G. B. Salm) the buildings where popular commercial venues Melkweg and Paradiso now operate.
The OCCII has no central programming, instead there are several programming groups that set the agenda. Some of these groups are Le Club Suburbia (mostly indie and post-punk), `Nada (new wave and EBM), Muziek Kapot Moet (experimental, electronic, noise, weird pop), Spellbound (Queer, electronic, dance), The Real Amsterdam Underground /Doom!Shit!Doom! (punk, hardcore, Doom, Sludge), HalloGallo (sounds & colours for body and mind) and Cool Schmool (dance, indie, mostly female fronted).
Aktion Mutante isnt a venue, its an art- and cultureassociation in the south of austria, exactly near the borders of italy and slovenia (both countries are just 10 minutes to drive).
The association exists since 14 years and is specialised to organise concert in carinthia.
We are normally organising the concerts in an old monastery, but we have also one or even two alternative locations for "colder" month.
